This week Darren Doherty will be joining us to answer our questions about keyline systems and much more.

There are places on his online course Keyline Basics - Geometry up for grabs.

Darren himself will be popping into the forum over the next few days answering questions and joining in discussions.

From now through this Friday, any posts in this forum, ie the earthworks forum, could be selected to win.

To win, you must use a name that follows our naming policy and you must have your email set up in Paul's daily-ish email..

The winner will be notified by email and must respond within 24 hours.

Darren's website is heenandoherty.com

Posts in this thread won't count, but please feel free to say hi to Darren and make him feel at home!

Howdy Darren ! I watched the whole series of your Keyline at the beach and that was the first time I really understood the concept. Excellent way to help others understand. Thanks !

Thanks Paul and Darren for creating this forum, the videos are great! Has keyline design ever been attempted near Eureka or Death Valley? What factors in deserts affect key line design? (Besides the movement of terrain).

So I ran the winner picker app in the forum software and the winners are ...

Wyomiles Hogan
and
Nina Jay

Congratulations Wyomiles and Nina!

I sent you an email to ask for the email address of the person that first referred you to Permies.com. That person (if qualified) will also get a copy of the book.

Woo Hoo, Thanks Adrien, I think I found Permies through a conversation at the survival podcast forum a long time ago, I do not really remember, so I really do not have an e-mail of someone else. Maybe draw another name out of the hat ?

Congratulations!
I hope anyone who has understood better than me will make some answers in my unreplied posts...
I made some suppositions so that it was possible to say yes or no,
and then understand better some details.

I do not feel I am all wrong, but a pity to let go some mistakes that will be read by others.

Thanks for the note Wyomiles, We did too and fortunately the internet didn't break down with 5 mins to go on the second session AND I remembered to press the record button so it was all recorded for future viewing. You will be sent a code to access this when we put it up on-line.
Thanks again and all the best,

Darren

Then sure water comes into the soil, but stays where it is. You do not direct water on contours.
You direct water when it can go down, even slightly.

I think that now I can make a resumé of what is keylines method:

This is the art of using gravity for directing water where you need it, either for helping it to go to the drier part of the land, or stocking it for later use.

Stop it! You're embarassing me! And you are embarrassing this tiny ad!
