Who made snow Ice cream?

Being a Permie is all about taking what nature gives you and channeling it, and making it work for you, instead of fighting it.
So when nature gives us snow - make snow ice cream!
Being unable to get to the store... I just used what I had - some goats milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.
Checking on line recipes, looks like I got it right.
Hugging the wood stove and eating ice cream... it doesn't get any better.

Added some Nestle's chocolate, because who doesn't like chocolate ice cream?
But I also tried some with blueberries and later some with peaches.
There's nothing like home-made fun!

We do this every couple of years. Our kids are grown now, but it used to be more common.

My father's family always did this when he was a kid, he loved it, but for some reason we never did it growing up.  Maybe next time I'm with him when it snows I'll tell him let's do it

We would winter camp in Yosemitee. When this coincided with snow in the valley, vanilla ice cream and peach cobbler were both forthcoming. Cooked from Granma's home canned peaches. Mmmm...
