Aaron at Edgewood is the source of the Salish Blue for EFN.  Edgewood Nursery  He's sold out this year, but I'm sure he'll have more next year, so you may want to get on his mailing list.

The original source where I found them to share with Aaron no longer seems to sell them, so it may have been quite fortunate to get those into his caring hands.  I originally found out about Salish Blue right here on Permies!  Thank you Nicole, small world, right?

those looking for Kernza wheat should know that you can only buy it if you are licensed by the Land Institute and that they require a minimum of 20 acres committed to it plus testing, observation, and reporting.  Of course this cuts out most homesteaders. The people at UofMN seem to be pretty good, but they are locked into protecting this from being captured by Big Ag on the one hand and acting like them on the other.
Bottom line, unless you can come by some illegally, we're limited to waiting for it to be more broadly available.  The salish blue from Edgewood/U of Washington seems more likely, but...heh... just try to find some seed!

Hello Devin!

Welcome to permies!

I have a farmer friend who was playing with perennial wheat in Washington state.  You might be able to get seed by participating in a test plot for farmers in your area.

The Land Institue started with thinopyrom intermedium. Kerzan doesn't appear to be readily available to small homesteads.  Have you thought about landracing your own strain?
