I'm starting off with the basic brick rocket stoves in a couple weeks. Long term goal for outside: Take the basic traditional brick oven and fire it up with a rocket stove.

The basic concept:

Rion Mather : I have only found out about a Canadian Masonry Master Builder Named Alex Chernov ! His company e-Mail address is - stovemaster.com - check out his
site, he has 5 east coast Reps. and 1 in wash. state, check out the brick ovens and the pictures from the last Workshop ! when you go to the oven door and parts list its
in finish, you need to click on the flag of England (the Union Jack) to get an English only page i think you will be happy you took the time to look there ! Pass this around,
I think we need to Welcome the Whole crew on board as new members A.S.A.P. !

For the Good of the Craft ! Be safe, keep warm ! PYRO-LOGICALLY Big AL ! - As always, your questions and comments are solicited and are Welcome ! A. L.

Windows!!! Awesome! Lol.

Great suggestion, Allen. I will post the links for others. I will keep those doors in mind for any indoor build. I know I whine a lot about windows but my outdoor brick oven is going to be strictly for cooking. I also have a fire pit so there will be no need for windows. Fire pits are a must have around here.

The architectural elements of the cob/brick ovens seem to be a perfect match with a rocket stove.

Rion Mathers : Windows, I like windows too ! They are aways down on my list of future problems too am an old Pyro -maniac and have the scars to show it ! PYROs-
like windows

This looks to be a little pricey for me I believe I mentioned my goal to have a J-Tube model 'Rocket Mass Heater' R.M.H. that will give me a horizontal lay out by
removing just one end brick 1 my second goal is to hang the entire front section of a micro-wave oven at the front of a quasi horizontal feed tube to allow be to look at
the flames and tighten everything up at bed time ! For the craft Big AL ! ask and you shall receive ! A. L.

I wonder if you could use a removable metal panel behind a glass door? Maybe even one that could be slid out of place?

Would the glass from a microwave be strong enough to withstand the heat from the fire? I am just starting to read about borosilicate glass. I got to wondering about my beaker teapot of all things.

So there I was, trapped in the jungle. And at the last minute, I was saved by this tiny ad:
