For several days this week we have had seed puffs drifting down like snow. The seeds themselves are white, and a little shorter than dandelion seeds. Today, I found numerous seedlings where drifts had been. I’m wondering if the most mature seedlings will allow the dramatic drifting seeds to be identified. Does anyone here know the most likely culprits in East Texas mid-April? Thank you in advance!

"[6] Let the people, O God, confess to Thee: let all the people give praise to Thee: [7] The earth hath yielded her fruit. May God, our God bless us, [8] May God bless us: and all the ends of the earth fear Him." (Psalms 66/67)
if they were just drifting down this week, i’m doubtful that these plants, with two pairs of true leaves already, are from those seeds. but maybe from last year’s? tree seeds with fluff include cottonwood, some willows, and probably more…does anyone know what paper mulberry seeds are like?
There is a tree that sheds seeds that gather in drifts on my porch. They appear ridiculously early here. But I haven't seen any yet, though I expect you are further along in sprig the we are. I haven't identified them yet, though I do know mine are not willow.
The seed snow has been continuing, and I finally found the source today! Oddly, the tree where this came from doesn’t seem to be dropping seeds uniformly, but only from the dead-looking branches. Hard to tell with a tree this tall

Now that I squint really hard, I see seeds on the green branches too
