I have a confession to make: I have a love/hate relation with the Wisteria Vine that came with the house we bought. It was planted too close to the house and it loves to climb... no surprise there! I prune it regularly,

but if I'm not watching it closely...

Pearl Sutton and I have been playing with captions for this picture, and we thought we'd share the fun!

(on a more serious "permies" note - yes, in some ecosystems it can be invasive. I watch out for that here. However, it provides me with bucketfuls of weed-free mulch for gardening projects. It's a nitrogen fixer, and tolerates our summer droughts. Its flowers are gorgeous. It's a wonderful plant so long as I manage its exuberant growth!)

From what I've heard, Kudzu is far scarier! I guess that makes "wannabe" about right!

Kudzu grows amazingly fast. Fortunately, my goats love it and my vet says it's highly nutritious. Keeping it under control is the main thing.

We do have wisteria in the area, but I've never seen it take over like kudzu does.

I'd love to plant some at the bases of my paddock fencing, & all around the barn, for my goats!
