Well, I don't know when or how I did it. I however know that my middle finger's knuckle is aching. It has been slightly swollen but I have full range of motion so I am not concerned about anything being broken.

What are your home remedies while waiting for time to heal a jammed digit?

Arnica (topical only, tyvm), StJohn's wort (works even better for pain than for depression), and comfrey are my top recommendations for anyone who doesn't already have a supply of my DEEP.

Jammed my fingers in the car door not so long ago - elevation and a pack of frozen peas straight from the freezer (wrapped in a tea towel).
Comfrey ointment if it's available - but I've never been sure if it's the comfrey or the massaging in that does the trick, but great for bruises!

Hypericum perforatum oil is good for bruises.

Either vodka (on fabric, wrapped with cerane wrap) for a couple of hours. Or urine (same appication) overnight.

Well, it seems something is persisting but I think I am trending towards recovery. Some days I can make a fist, and other days the space between the middle finger knuckle and hand aches on either side. It is 'tight'. Maybe this is what it is like being an adult? Boo!

Very possibly, Timothy. An injury doesn't *have to be* an old one, in order to ache when the barometer drops. However, it's just as likely that there's still some deeper healing going on, there. I'd advise you to keep using your treatments for a while, yet, especially when it acts up (notice I didn't say *if* - sorry). Also, those treatments will usually help ease the aches and pains that weather and aging bring, so... Stock up, get comfy with it, and always remember to exercise it, when it's achy, to loosen it back up, and keep it working right.
