Any opinions on soil blocking? I just came across this in a Growveg youtube video and it seems like a good plastic free way to start annual and other seeds. I am looking at investing beyond the cheapo big box store 72 cell plastic seed starter trays that are destroyed quite quickly. Looking also at the Bootstrap Farmer air prune system of seed trays and Epic Gardening seed cell set ups for their durable reusability. At least they won't be yearly throw aways. So just fishing for opinions before I drop any cash on a long term investment.

I have not used this idea as I prefer to grow the way Mother Nature does.

I have read several threads here on the forum and thought you or others might enjoy these:

Thank you for these links, I'm not as good as I used to be with technology, so I don't know how to search the forums other than going through every single post lol.

I did a test run this year of plastic free seed starting using fabric in rolls or seed snails.
It worked, but you need to keep on top of your watering with the fabric rolls and not make them too tall. It was a very cheap option for me!
Here's the link if you want to take a look. Seed snail testing thread

I have used soil blocks for several years when starting seeds. I like it alot. The key is to make sure you use a good recipe so the blocks are not too dense and also don't fall apart.

No little pots, and I do believe they adjust to transplanting faster.
