I have some blankets which have some stains from rolling on slugs... How are your favorite ways of getting slug slime off of clothing?

Especially in a context of hand washing.

The best way, I know, is don’t roll on slugs while you’re sleeping.

One article I read online suggested alcohol. I am trying potash right now as well. But slug slime is up there with pine resin for sticky and difficult to remove.

Hydrogen peroxide works!
The slime must be a protein as it foams up a lot.

Wait, what? How is this possible? Please enlighten.

As a solvent, good old hand sanitizer from the bad old days does a remarkable job of pulling stuff out and capturing it in a water soluble matrix. I still have two cases of it (it was free) in the garage. It's the maid of all work, and doesn't seem to damage clothing.

hydrogen peroxide has already been mentioned.

probably try alcohol next.

next on the list would be washing soda combined with dawn dish soap.

next would be some sort of oxi-clean product

Final shot at it would be bleach used carefully. know it will likely discolor what ever it is used on

I believe you need a magic carpet of some sort?… I’m not quite certain what comes after.

Thank you for the advice!

It seems like an easy oops, while sleeping out under the stars or picnicking.  I know when I get slug slime on my hands it takes scritching it off and washing a couple of times with dawn to get it out, so I don't know how dawn would do on clothing with it.

I agree. Here's the link: http://stoves2.com
