Hi, I'm like to undergo some serious toxin-ectomy, and not just on a bodily level, but on an economic level too... what I mean to say is, I'd like to find some healthy vegetable oils that are produced in Northeast USA, so I can finally break my dependence on buying oils from California or other foreign powers.

All I can think of is Corn Oil and Sunflower Oil, neither of which are particularly exciting...

Any ideas??

Walnut oil is very popular here in France with a similar climate plus other nut oils

Ben,

There was a huge wave of squash seed oil marketing from venues in and around the Finger Lakes in recent years. Not likely the most economical choice but undoubtedly delicious!

Not sure what is common in your area. I tried pecan oil. It was pricey and sold in small bottles, but was impressed how it did not smoke when temperatures were elevated. I need to look at larger quantities. I'm 30 miles from huge pecan orchards.
