In the 1946 classic, It’s a wonderful life, Clarence, an angel on a mission to earn his wings, by helping George, the main character, to regain his appreciation for life. In the 2025 original life special, Boots, JP, and Seth help the Leviathan re-earn its wheels. We heard the bells ringing the whole time. While watering at Allerton, I had a rather pleasant conversation with Early, one of the sisters of the abbey. She said that she pur-furs it when we come by to give pats, and shoulder rides. We’ll take it into consideration. Apart from the Abbey remains active in planting, and chopping. There has been a water pressure issue on the lab that, as of late, remains a mystery. I suspect our fearless leader will help guide us to a solution- updates to come. Bone sauce attempt 3 has been started, I’m of the opinion that the third time is the charm, and if it doesn’t work, it will be undercooked rather than over, which is progress in my book, and fixable. More logs have been sectioned, and dragged down the mountain for peeling. Luckily, Matt came with some chainsaw proficiency, as you can see in the photo, so zero finger were lost. And as any Tuesday is incomplete without, tacos were had, ice cream was et, and Andor inspired us all with the spirit of rebellion. Maybe we’re our own kind of rebellion fighting against the empire that is the world’s energy and food systems. I’ll let someone else decide which characters are which.
On the morrow: mulch to cut for soil a sealin’, logs lined up to get a peelin’, bone sauce done for a releavin’, step by step the earth a healin’. -Seth

Let there be no mistaking the intentions for this lime
As the skies above the Abbey trickled tears of torrents past,
this bodacious bunch balked not at the burden,
but battled bravely to better bestow berms with beauty.
No seed left unlabeled, nor grass left aloft,
just a pretty piece of permaculture, piled high and soft.
The splendid six so did succeed, at striking down with sword,
every prickly lettuce in the place, and Catherine praised the Lord!
Good GAMCODs grow greatly with grandiose speed,
and dirt piled on log ends is all that they need.
Then luncheon did bring all the boots back around,
to base camp with wishes of mending the ground.
The bone sauce came out wrong, it brought me some grief,
but too raw than too cooked was quite a relief.
Then all logs were peeled like potatoes for mash,
just in time for my fingers to be thoroughly smashed.
The end of log splitting did come premature,
And the filming of new trails was not quite the cure.
But all was not lost, as you see I still type right,
in fact it's a win ‘cause I still can make game night.
Now in case all this rhyming has stolen your breath,
just know more is coming from your good friend -Seth
Be careful not to blink or it'll already be the end of June too. After a tiny bit of traveling tumult, today was my first day back. We spent the morning at Allerton for the usual. I planted arugula, and scarlet runner beans.. It's exciting to see all the sunchoke sprouts from what we planted at the lemon tree site. Deer pressure?
Highlight: harvesting almost 10 lbs of rhubarb that we washed, chopped, and frozen for future rhubarb goodies.
Ideas: rhubarb kombucha, rhubarb ants on a log. Successes: rhubarb jam, just snacking raw
Undecided: Rhubarb candy
