I'm a bit perplexed my topic under "Permaculture" called "Another likely cause of descent" (or something like that) was deleted, after a few likes. Deemed off topic or too political I assume, I notice your site is not very political. You might retain contributors if you explained reasons for deletion or directed to guidelines if there are any.

Looks like it was in the wrong forum.

Growies permaculture is about growing things using permaculture techniques. Your topic was more appropriate for the cider press.

That is 100.0000% true!  An absolute truth because it is a qualified statement.  Well done!

Of course, whenever using the excellent qualifier "might" there is a corollary for the exact same statement qualified with "might not".

After so many decades of managing community ...    I wish your statement was truer than the corollary.  In the beginning, I was sure that would be the case.  But ....    people ....  they are so very human ...  and all that that implies ....    in practice, it is the corollary that is truer.

And here we are.   5 million people per month.  On a forum.  And I've been told "all forums are dead."  So I guess we are beating the odds.

thanks for explanation, would not have guessed post was in wrong place, assumed content undesirable in some way, so that's good.

Listen up people. I have this disabiility about classifying things,

For example. I take this photo every morning of a particular
spot. A human time lapse series. This morning my cat wanders
into the picture. If I were to organize my collection, will this be
under the time lapse series or cat pictures? What happens if
someone has thrown an Ecoladrillo on that patch of grass?
I am writing a piece on a solution to the problem of plastic
pollution and the Ecoladrillo plays an important part.
Where should I look for this particular photo then?
I take at least - emphasis on "least" - 13 photos a day.

I've had a few posts deleted like "Shit-X" . I put a lot of effort
into that in response to a request.

Looks like I might have wandered into the wrong neighbourhood by mistake.
Because of my disability.

BUT then again I have experienced that my replies have been moved elsewhere
into other threads by the moderators who were then kind enough to inform me
about this.

So should "Shit-X" be posted where the request was made or in a
drivel/nonsense/parody section? I was stunned by the Bollywood
post. We allow this? Then why?
Again a classification matter.
Could the moderator have just moved this across?

Some things are easy to classify like the Sheriff of Nottingham.
But Robin Hood?

We were attending a talk. Priest asked this question.
Was Robin Hood wrong to steal from the rich?

Stand up those those who thought it wasn't wrong.

A bunch of us.

More questioning.

At the end only I was still standing.

True Story. Long story short, the priest failed
to convince me otherwise.

There will never be another "Shit-X" post.
That PC has been down for years awaiting a system fan.
I don't remember my password.

Final thoughts, This isn't my sandbox and I don't make the rules.
My cardiologist thinks I might have 4 years left. I have other fish
to fry.  Who am I? I am the one pointing out that
The Man Who Planted Trees is not a true story.

The volunteers who take the time to try to keep Permies on track can take different approaches to the same situation and even a single volunteer might react differently to the same moderation challenge at different times based on the time we have available, our mood, our breakfast, etc. Sometimes we make a decision and move on and sometimes we consult the team for consensus. It seems to me that moderation here is pretty consistent considering the global, diverse pack of unpaid volunteers that are providing this service.

When I put on my scientist hat, it appears that I can only take this statement on trust
seeing (actually not seeing) that I haven't a clue what lies on the cutting room floor.

I no longer have a dog in this fight so I shall quiesce unless you have an opinion
about Robin Hood. I know what it is like volunteering.

Fun fact. All those reviewers on papers submitted to science and medical journals
are also unpaid. I kind of wonder who they asked to peer review Albert Einstein's
5 submissions in 1905.

Looking at your history, this would be a really good read.
