Is there a possible way to reduce a person's constant stress, stressful agitation or with a herbal tea, or salve, or anything to help ....

Nettle, especially seed, is considered an adaptogen helpful for that sort of thing. I try to eat nettle as often as possible because it feels very healthy. Having enough vitamin C is good too and a pot of spruce tea can’t hurt.

Why is this person (you or otherwise, I am not sure) so stressed in the first place? That may help to know the situation better, and also if there are other physical symptoms present.

I could give a fair list of herbs that could help, but there's a difference between tension and hypertension, and how they're best dealt with. So, first thing I would ask is are we talking about one or both? If only one, which? Is it long term, or a recent development? One thing I can feel pretty safe in recommending to almost anyone is tulsi/ holy basil. It is an incredibly effective adaptogen that addresses both types of tension, with no nasty side effects.

I would also support the nettle recommendation - it's also an amazing herb, with one caveat: too much of it will act as a laxative, and the amount needed to get to 'laxative effect' varies from person to person.

I've had my husband on both hawthorn and passion flower for years, for both his heart and blood pressure.

Lavender, chamomile, catnip, ashwaganda, rose, and others can be a wonderful help with stress, but might only touch hypertension lightly, or only help alleviate symptoms, without addressing the root of the problem - that often depends on the person's individual constitution, diet, genetics, environment, habits, temperament... There are many more factors, and for something like hypertension, I would strongly advise finding (locally) a good naturopath that can help you dig into all the aforementioned factors (& I'm sure more), to help you find the best protocol for your unique situation.

I would venture, without knowing anything about the situation, that exercise often helps with tension. There is the old saying that you can't be too busy to medidate, you are too busy *not* to meditate. I feel the same way about exercise, and always find a way to fit in even a brisk walk. Obviously this is not always feasible in every case, but in my circle of people it is what keeps us off the blood pressure meds and out of the straitjacket. YMMV.

Hypertension is usually aka high blood pressure.

If that is the case someone on the forum suggest that he had eliminated his high blood pressure using this:

If the problem is stress then maybe a lemon-balm tea would help?  It help calm me.

Here are some threads about stress:

The "Super Beet Soft Chews have allowed me to stop prescription meds. Spinach will also help. There is anecdotal evidence that elevated nitrate levels in drinking water lowered blood pressure.

I wonder if Joseph means something more like “tense and hyper”? It would be good to clear that up.
