I am currently in a tiny living situation. I am havin a huge problem with these little ants! They are everywhere. I found a "hill" area just swarming with the little ants and a crazy mob of these bigger ones with wings. Mixed up some hot water with big glug of dawn soap and vinegar and poured it over the area. Usually dont go for this but i am gettin desperate!
I havent seen them at that area since but the little ones are still terrorizing me inside ):
With the tiny living arrangements i have been avoiding the splurge on DE and dealing with having it all over.

Suggestions?

Borax. Mixed with honey or sugar and a little water for sugar ants or with a little oil for grease ants.

Soda water works well for outside ant hills.
As the water is poured into the hill, the bubbles burst, releasing CO2.
Since CO2 is heavier than air, it sinks to the bottom, suffocating the ants in their 'tomb'.

This was a breeding time for the ants. The males/females mate onthe ground or in the air and the females go off to make new colonies. They are not good fliers so a lot of them get eaten up. Usually only happens once a year.

Mother Nature Network has a list of 13 natural remedies for ant invasions that are pretty neat. Some of the ideas they talk about are peppermint, Equal sugar packets, and baking soda. The baking soda one is kinda scary, for the ants that is: baking soda and sugar get eaten by the ants and then the ants fizz up and go pop.
