Natural fibres, woven rather than knitted, loose fitting, long sleeves. Water can be applied - i.e. poured over to add portable air-con. Add a hat, wet keeps the brain cool. Also a wet cotton bandana really helps. Regular summer temperatures in Oz often exceed 100°F - a 10 day period over that not unknown.
Mosquitos less likely to bite if some sort of concentrated brewers yeast add to diet (we use the dreaded Vegemite - not liked by many, it's an acquired taste). There must be a U.S. equivalent spread? It's also high in vitamins of the B group - so maybe mushrooms?
I know there are modern self wicking tops used by sports folk, but I have no experience of those. Perhaps others can help with that.
