Now, maybe I missed it. But I think you are missing one very important position on The Land.

The Pooper Poobah!

Or possibly the Humanure Head Honcho!

Sorry, I could not resist the temptation.

I did, I've just been in the kitchen (and out buying groceries and kitchen tools), cleaning, etc., more than at my computer, so will reply this evening!

Paul's e-mail today sparked some responses from folks interested in coming out. It's my job to screen them, and I think some of these new inquiring minds might not know as much about the project as the forum regulars.

In other words, it's lovely to hear about folks skills and excitement to come help...and...we're looking for a good fit and want to make sure it makes sense for all sides.

To that end, Paul would like folks to have listened to most or all his podcasts - plus be a non-smoker, no pot, no drugs, no hooch. I asked Paul if reading all of his articles and reading all the paul's farm forum threads would be equivalent to the podcasts, and his reply was no; it's not quite the same.

If you're trying to learn about Paul's stuff without the podcasts, there are multiple articles, hundreds of forums, and hundreds of YouTube videos to wade through, so it can be quite a lot.

At the risk of repeating or stating the obvious, it makes sense that it's easier for us to work with folks who have a very good overview of Paul's methods and wishes.

Some other questions we ask include:
How would you get to Paul's project?
What and who would you bring?
Do you have adequate resources for exiting or returning to your former home if needed (a parachute package)?

Hey there! I'd be interested in any kind of minion position. I live on the east coast but I'd be willing to travel. I could do two months, or even longer if possible.

My talents are mostly within the realm of computers (beginner level C++, photoshop experience, general office program expertise, good knowledge of what goes on in the background on a PC) and writing, but I love the idea behind permaculture and would be very excited to do apprentice-type work and learn tricks of the trade first hand. I have been doing gardening for some time now so I'm comfortable with getting dirty and tending to plants. I have hobby-level knowledge of electronics and health. My most valuable skill is in writing, and I'd be more than willing to write about my experiences or write up some articles for publicity.

As far as pay, I'd be willing to work for free for any amount of time if that helps.

Hi Jason, that's awesome! There's been enough requests lately, that I tried to clarify things in the new how to volunteer, visit, or apply for a paid position thread. Check that out and then contact me if you're still interested.
