While the list might be indicative, I suspect that the list will never be filled exactly. Instead, I suspect that we will end up with different people filling different roles and the same sort of stuff gets done. Or maybe we will go a couple of years without somebody filling an important role and the rest of us sorta fill in as best as we can.
I respect that all of these would be for freakishly crappy pay. And for all of them, I thought that if we got things rolling well enough on the first year, that the second year would pay a bit more. And each year would be a significant bump.

In the first year, my rough plan was "land manager"...[read above for more details and ideas]

I remember one of the positions was called something like "people nurture manager" or something like that.

For the most part, I think there will be roles on the land best described as "minions".

I think everybody starts off for the first two weeks unpaid. We just gotta find out if this will work long term. Plus, for the first year, funds will be mighty tight. So I suspect that several roles will not be filled - or maybe some people will have moderate skills and will keep the seat warm for $300 per month.

Paul is expressing how he'd like it to work out, and I want to repeat that we don't know yet how much will be possible to pay. Please understand: the land and the base camp property have not closed yet. Finances are still being worked out. We do not have an initial budget yet. We do not know what positions will be paid at first, we do not know how many volunteers we will need to feed, how much renting equipment will cost, etc.

Perhaps you can charge people a fee to come hunt in near future... some people would pay a bit to do a hunt on some nice land...

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. I think "house commander" or "kitchen commander" sounds good too.

Cool, amazing people are coming out to help - though they are falling trees, making shakes, using a draw knife on logs, digging tank traps, etc. all up on the laboratory, and not so much around base camp.
Paul was thinking it's time to pay someone to come out, live here, and take care of the following (they would be paid poorly for now):
70% cooking, food preservation and sourcing, kitchen management
10% wild food gathering, prepping, storing
20% people space care/management
(these percentages are, of course, estimates)

The poor pay would be in addition to free room and board, so when you add in the room and board, it's actually not bad pay.
Anyone interested?

This would be for more project-oriented stuff on the lab and around base camp if your husband would be interested. I'll send you a private message so we can talk about it offline a bit more.
