Leave civilization:
gut feeling?
response to prophecy?
other?
I'm with you tho. The phone is last thing I gave up ... something in me caused me to forget mine on top of the car one day, and I haven't felt called to replace.
I still have these to give up:
alcohol -- just learned about using old/damaged fruits to make cider ...prolly gonna have a phase on that, but making it without extra sugar which will likely keep it <5%
truck/car -- my plan is to steadily move further away from populated areas so its safe to get around with donkey/cart ... maybe electric bicycle
electricity -- currently I'm super enjoying having a small fridge and a small window unit, but I'm down to make the switch to solar panels only next
propane -- super excited to switch to wood heating or even better ... buried cabin. In Texas we don't really need heat
internet -- I believe there will be a time on earth when we live under a one world government that will insist all people "bow" to the leader. I believe that the wearing of masks during covid was practice for that. Everyone will be asked to do something ridiculous to prove their loyalty. When that time comes, I will for sure be completely off the internet
store bought food -- I'm still learning to build dry weather food forests, not there yet, but growing/foraging all my own food is for sure the goal.
Of all the things I've given up already ... like running water, I don't miss at all. Once you learn the new daily routine, life is sooo much simpler, rewarding, and stress free ...even tho you gotta work harder, it makes you feel better and healthier.

It's a pleasure to see superheros taking such an interest in science. And this tiny ad:
