So I just took each title that had over 10 votes from here and now we will do what paul calls the poor man's poll. AKA, just click the thumbs up button on the title you like the best.

I like all of these and even those which wouldn't be good titles make great tags for the packaging and any one doing reviews. I voted for the earth wind and fire one but mostly because its stepping dangerously close to copyright and I'd love to see this one litigated.

If the really long "rocket mass heaters: The absurdly efficient, ridiculously cheap, surprisingly comfortable way to heat your home" wins, it will need a shorthand way to refer to it. Perhaps RMH-ECC? (efficient, cheap, comfortable)

I am leaning toward that too, but I don't think the long title is problem, because the long-winded part is a subtitle. It'll end up be known by it's short, main titke, rocket mass heaters. Which is a good thing I think. Short and accurate. With a subtitle that clarifies, with colorful adjectives for spice. But you're probably right, that insiders will likely use the shorthand you offer. That's my guess anyway. Off to vote!

I like the subtitle.

But I have no idea what a "New World wood stove" might be. And I don't think a prospective buyer would either. My best guess is that is has to do with the early colonization of the Americas (that was the "New World" after all).

If one married this to the title of "rocket mass heaters" I would change the subtitle, slightly. Something like...

Rocket Mass Heaters: The definitive guide to theory, design, construction, and installation.

(This assumes it really *is* a definitive guide. If not, I'd not use a misleading title/subtitle, because that'll just upset buyers.)

I like that title too. I can give a second thumbs up without screwing up the polling number too badly right? I mean it worked for Diebold.

I'd like to see something short and punchy. The longer names are fun and descriptive, but from a marketing perspective, short and sweet is usually the ticket, and this is about mass appeal , yeah?

So I'd like to cast my vote for "RMH - The Definitive Guide" -or - "RMH 2.0: The Definitive Guide" which kind of combines two names.

May I also suggest: "RMH 2.0: The Definitive Guide to free heat" This kind of combines short and punchy with some descriptive info for those who may not know about RMH.

I like the addition of 2.0 (or whatever the edition number is) to show that progress has been made and that this is the newest version. People are used to this terminology from computer speak, so I think it'll be of help in people grasping the concept. The world domination tag is memorable, but I personally dislike the use of the word "Domination" in reference to something that is definitely going against the Dominator Paradigm that we currently suffer from. But maybe I'm just an old hippie at heart... LOL

Props, respect and kudos to Paul, Ernie and Erica, Approvecho, Ianto and all the other RMH pioneers! Thanks for the great work you've all been doing to make everyone's life better!

Cheers n Beers, Joe

So how close are you guys to unveil the kickstarter? You see there are other great permaculture kickstarters out right now that I've supported nicely and am considering to up it, but I'd rather like to over stretch on getting Paul Wheaton financed allthough in a perfect world they would all get properly funded.

Another bump.

Permies: please note this is the current, relevant, and official poll for the new title. Please ignore previous poll threads.

Today is the day I need to come up with a title.

It seems that the title would be "rocket mass heaters" and the subtitle would be "The absurdly efficient, ridiculously cheap, surprisingly comfortable way to heat your home"

Further, it would seem that the shorthand notations could be:

rocket mass heaters 4-DVD set
rocket mass heaters 8-DVD set

and the individual DVDs could be named:

Rocket Mass Heaters: cob style
Rocket Mass Heaters: Pebble Style
Rocket Mass Heaters: Shippable Cores
Rocket Mass Heaters: Innovator's Event
Rocket Mass Heaters: Fire Science
Rocket Mass Heaters: Sneaky Heat
Rocket Mass Heaters: Boom Squish
Rocket Mass Heaters: Hot Rocket

How does this sound?

And in reading through this thread, I had another idea:

Rocket Mass Heaters: Science and DIY beat industrial shenanigans.

I'm liking it all. That's the hardest part - the choosing. I did my apple voting, I did the thumbs up here - sounds like you are there and that last bit for the tag line is seriously less busy. But then, I always vote for SCIENCE! LOL
