Welcome Harry! For me, as a 'follower' of boots through their posts it is easy you are using this thread for your BEL posts. It's good to see Esteban isn't the only boot anymore, now you are there and Stephen is back.

Harry told me that he's starting to feel sick, maybe a cold/upper resp infection, so based on what I think could be available at WL, I'm suggesting:

Diet:
-plenty of clear liquids and eat lightly (healing > digestion)
-ginger, onions, garlic, thyme, oregano (in a miso soup maybe)
-hot water with lemon, honey, cinnamon, cayenne, and astragulus root (no astragulus if you develop a fever)
-avoid inflammatory foods: dairy, sugar, etc

Rx:
-200mg ginseng 2xdaily
-1000mg Vit C 4x daily (reduce if diarrhea)
-20mg zinc every 2 waking hours for 4 days
-10ml elderberry syrup 3x daily
-2 echinacea and goldenseal combination capsules 2x daily
-fire cider, dilute to tolerance

Aroma:
Any available combo of lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, and/or tea tree oils

Hopefully nothing serious (maybe dust inhalation?)

Looks like the depth of the clay might have been a little shallow? Thermal movement and foot pressure causing delamination and crushing perhaps.

Nancy - Thanks for the well wishes. I think i caught the cold just before or during my drive out here to MT. Fortunately, I think the worst of it is behind me after yesterday .

The issue is actually that during the settling of the Abbey's "foundation" (since after it was built), the deadman log that below this piece of the floor has sunk causing a void between the earthen floor layer and the log. Given that this is a high people traffic area of the abbey, your thoughts about foot pressure is correct in that it is likely the reason the floor collapsed right above the void.

I'm still in control here. LOOK at this tiny ad!
