Seeking non-tobacco smoking, honest and hard-working handy person or couple to live free of rent and utilities in exchange for help on the farm. Hopefully you're like-minded, preferring healthy, organic, green-natural living....We have a small, fairly self sufficient homestead farm in lovely rolling hills and pine trees (6K elevation) east of Denver with turkeys, chickens, pigs, rabbits, milk-goats, tons of kitties. We're offering a small but nice private 1 bedroom apartment with separate entrance, parking, kitchen and bath also private screened in porch and backyard which still needs landscaped this summer and will soon feature a private hot tub. Cigarettes are NON-NEGOTIABLE but 420 is welcome, and you may grow within legal limits with our help. We provide all tools and supplies plus great internet/landline, cable TV, power backup, etc. Includes personal storage unit and chest freezer. Free fresh organic food in season such as eggs, bread, yogurt, milk, cheese, herbs and vegetables in exchange for animal care and gardening chores. You may raise animals within reason as you like, and engage in hobbies that need space as we have plenty on 9.5 acres.

Us: in our 50's, stable, husband works full time in town as computer nerd technical manager. I'm an RN when not managing farm full time. Normal, practical, generally calm, decent, people. Very hard working and goal oriented (read: get the farm finished!) but enjoy our fun, too. Farm recreation area includes off-grid guest tiny tree house, disc golf, ladder ball, horseshoes, target practice, etc......I'm skilled at every aspect of cooking and food preservation, including drying, canning, cooking, baking, pickling, curing etc....Massive organic garden. Given time we make our own beer and hooch. Many skills to share and many opportunities to learn and grow out here. There's plenty of room for working on your vehicles, hobbies and animals. We've also begun working on building tiny homes and hope to help our helpers make money at that at this year. There's plenty of local work needed as people can't get good help out here in the boonies, so you can easily earn decent money right near the farm if you have the right work ethic and skills.

You: You're trustworthy, responsible, emotionally and personally stable, handy/experienced at a variety of handy things such as electric, plumbing and carpentry, etc. Willing to do what it takes during the on seasons, (carpentry, weeding, fixing, etc, while knowing you get to relax a lot in the winter.) You like knowing where your food/weed came from and how it lived. You like a challenge and figuring things out while working independently with your hands. You like animals and will take good care of ours. You're excited about not having to pay any rent (worth a lot in Colorado this year as you likely already know!) but that isn't the only motivator, you're just as interested in living the organic, self-reliant clean-air life that goes with that free rent. You're genuinely interested in conserving/managing resources like water, raising all organic food, and learning to be self sufficient while eating well. Hopefully you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle in good running condition or close to it, and if you have kids they're either grown or no more than one well behaved child as there simply isn't room for more in the apartment. You don't have a ton of bills or in-town responsibilities weighing you down. If your past was less than squeaky clean it was a long time ago and you've learned from it and moved on. You're interested in staying at least until Thanksgiving but might like to live here long term.

The deal: 9.5 acres in small heavily treed subdivision 1 hour from downtown Denver. Neighbors near but not on top of you. Very nice scenery, looks and feels just like living in the mountains. Farm got mostly finished this year, but still has a short, mildly ambitious project list to finish before winter: Root cellar entrance repair, deck and barn painting, finish mudroom interior, yard landscaping, insulate garage, erect greenhouse kit, and enlarge goat pasture fencing are most of it. (Not too bad really.) There's enough to keep busy until Thanksgiving, after which we all plan to relax. After that list the farm's finally done and life will be relatively easy ever after, mostly just animal care and gardening. As for smoking cigarettes, we've had people be less than truthful and it's never worked out well, so please, if you smoke regular tobacco, don't apply and don't get mad at me for requiring it. There are very few rules out here, and that's the hardest one, given to you right up front, no hedging or BS about it. The last couple stayed here well over a year, did a lot of great work for us, and are only leaving because of family issues, they loved it out here and you could too!

If genuinely interested, write back and tell me some things about you and why you really want to do this. We usually get a lot of responses, so actually giving info other than just your name and phone number will get a response back. If you get no response in a couple days, it may just be that we didn't get your mail which happened in the past with some good people, so just write to us again.

Hi. Thanks for responding....What does that mean, you don't quite fit my wants? I might have the opportunity still open, however, I am looking for what I specified in my ad pretty much. So where do you fit into the description I placed?

(Not too bad really.) As for smoking cigarettes, we've had people be less than truthful and it's never worked out well, so please, if you smoke regular tobacco, don't apply and don't get mad at me for requiring it. Seeking non-tobacco smoking, honest, positive and hard-working handy COUPLE to live free of rent and utilities in exchange for some handy help on the farm but most importantly, to work as our business partners in various money-making endeavors.  Deeply desiring calm, happy, nice people who are like-minded, preferring healthy, organic, green-natural living....We have a small, attractive fairly self sufficient homestead farm in lovely rolling hills and pine trees (6K elevation) east of Denver with turkeys, chickens, pigs, rabbits, milk-goats, kitties. Given time we make our own beer and hooch. Many skills to share and many opportunities to learn and grow out here. There's plenty of room for working on your vehicles, hobbies and animals. We've also begun working on several money making ideas such as selling our organic vegetables and farm goods, as well as other ideas such as building tiny homes. It's our goal to help you make money in addition to us. There's also plenty of local work needed as people can't get good help out here in the boonies, so you can easily earn decent money right near the farm if you have the right work ethic and skills. We have a list of good money making directions to go and just need our profit-sharing team to help us go there.

You: You're trustworthy, honorable, responsible, emotionally and personally stable, handy/experienced at a variety of things such as electric, plumbing and carpentry, etc. Willing to do what it takes during the on seasons, (repairs, weeding, harvesting etc,) while knowing you get to relax a lot in the winter.) There is one project you'll be excited to work with though, our planned underground greenhouse that will grow lettuce and fish year round! As for cigarettes, we've had people be less than truthful and it's never worked out well, so please, if you smoke regular tobacco, don't apply and don't get mad at me for requiring it.     Hi we are Piper, Froukje and Rowin a diverse skilled family that enjoys being together in all phases of our lives.  We are flexible, hard working and easy to get along with. We are back to nature, grow your own food and treat nature with respect type of people.
Piper grew up in the southern Catskills hunting, fishing and being outdoors. His professional life has taken him into the hospitality industry as a chef. Here he excelled in ensuring guest satisfaction, by paying particular close attention to detail, while keeping an eye on everything going on. He has a very focused and strong work ethic and likes to get things done in a timely and efficient manner. For the past eight years he has been caretaking for a small intentional community as a chef, gardener, some livestock care, property caretaker, painting, carpentry and many other tasks that was asked of him, all while building a strong personal relationship with all the members of the community as well as any visitors and other employees. He is committed to taking care of people around him and he likes to take on challenges brought before with the opportunity to excel in guest satisfaction.
Froukje is a Dutch immigrant raised in a urban lifestyle, with a professional career trained to be of service on the interface between software program and the user. After meeting Piper five years ago she has stepped into a more natural lifestyle, which has done her quiet well. An ever-learning student of life she is committed to people relationships and how it affects each other and life. She loves working and playing outdoors as she tends to combine the two. She has great organizational skills and is focused on learning how she can better her life and the people around her. She has a keen ability to transform theory into everyday practical work. She is outstanding in taking direction as well as giving it. She was very proficient in the orchard with pruning, training and grafting as well as applying organic sprays harvesting and preserving. Her garden work was equally strong in seed starting, transplanting, seed save and harvesting. She pays attention to the health of the plants and researches on how to treat any problems. She has experience in raising laying hens.  She also compliments Piper to the degree that there is not an obstacle that cannot be over come.
Rowin was born to us October 2015 in a natural setting, as that is how we intend to raise him along with a nutrient dense diet and a holistic life style. We hope he acquires the skills to live a long healthy live. He his very outgoing, happy and friendly boy. He to enjoys the outdoors, as he has been picking mushrooms, and socializing with people. He has good loving parents that are committed to each other and sharing the world with him.

Hello, my name is Kristen, and there's also Alex.
We're a couple that are very interested in living self sustainably, healthy, and surrounded by nature.  ^^  We love animals and gardening, and in fact I, Kristen, have worked on an organic farm before for 3 months in Arizona at SouthWinds farm.  We don't smoke ciggarettes, but the opportunity to grow herb sounds exciting! We'd becoming from Texas but we're available as soon as we could get there, maybe about a week.     Alex loves moving and might be able to show you a bit of Movnat, which he is certified in as a level 3 instructor if you were interested.
In any case, let me know! My email is kristentabor@rocketmail.com
Thanks

Let me tell you a story about a man named Jed. He made this tiny ad:
Switching from electric heat to a rocket mass heater reduces your carbon footprint as much as parking 7 cars
