I don't have any experience with currants. They're on my list for my food forest and based on the UW info I was going to steer towards red currant. I was also going to try to find cultivars that are resistant to white pine blister since I have white pines in the area.
Another awesome site I found today is a seedling vendor in Wisconsin (down by Milwaukee:( ) called
Chief River Nursery. I'm not sure how they are to work with but their prices and selection are pretty good. 1 hazelnut (12-18") = $6.49, 100 hazelnuts = $1.87 ea.
