I notice this morning that I am not getting email for this post when it is updated:

https://permies.com/t/54406/ungarbage/mending-clothes

I then notice that I put this one on the Watch list, am not getting any emails when it has been updated:

https://permies.com/t/70797/personal-care/purity/regenerate-decaying-teeth-cure

Just curious as to what is happening.

Yesterday, I found an old permies email for the "Mending" thread from 6/14/17 and re-clicked on it so I got an update email this morning on it.  But still no updates on the one on my "watch" list.

I have wondered for several weeks why I only get one or two email each day, I thought it was because I wasn't posting to enough different topics.

I would like to say that for the one I was "Watching" the problem may be fixed as I got an email notifying of an update on "Tuesday, September 26, 2017 8:30 AM"; I had originally marked it to "Watch" before it had any replies.  Thank you for fixing the problem.

I got one update email for each topic so I thought the problem was solved.  Each topic has now gotten a reply since then that I did not receive an update for. So all is not well.

Thanks for asking.

You don't get more than one notification on a thread until you go and view that thread. Could that be the case here?

If that is the case, you can go to My Profile -> Email Preferences, and select "even if I haven't read all the previous messages in the thread yet". That makes sure that you always receive reply notifications.

I understand that I must click the link in the email to get another one.

I usually click on all links early in the morning before reading the other topics on the forum.

I happen to see your reply, Devaka, though I have not gotten any update email from Wednesday, September 27, 2017 8:31 AM that I clicked 7 hours ago.   It says you posted an hour ago so maybe not enough time to get it.

I will try your suggestion to see what happens.

I received it with this time/date:   Thursday, September 28, 2017 5:14 PM

Changing that preference in My Profile mads a difference as I usually only get 2 or 3 update emails but this morning I had six!

I wish there was some organization to the "watching" page as I can't seem to find the ones I put on recently to see if there have been updates.

I do too!  I just looked at my list of 'watches' and because it also includes all that we post in along with those deliberately checked it is a long long one and hard to edit other than going through one by one and checking the boxes.  I definitely like getting a notification from threads I'm participating in and those I've deliberately 'watched'.  It might be nice to be able to choose whole groups somehow to stop watching?
