"Post is too long..." error message and not able to post anything?

We've had a bug report about an error message appearing saying that a post is too long, despite the post being rather short.

Is anyone else having this problem?   If so, can you PM me?

5,000 character limit

10,000 character limit for ranch hands

add 10,000 characters to the limit for each cow you have

add 10,000 characters to the limit for each piece of pie you have

no limit for staff

If a person hits a limit, they are told about the pie thing.

And we have the ability to configure within the console.  

How big was the post?

Were they not told about this limitation and the pie?

The post was around 1800 characters.  Then I tried one with just one character. Same result.

Added:  This is posted under a new ID.  Whatever the problem is, it looks like it's related to my user profile.

I think they've figured out the problem and the fix will (well, should...) be implemented in the next deployment.
