Take a look at what's growing in the back yard at basecamp.
Apples
Currents
Green beans
Pears
Plums
Tomatoes
Pretty insect - not sure if it's edible

What are you excited about that's growing in your backyard?

Going for Gold

On the 4th of July, I’ll be celebrating more than just Independence Day. It also marks 2 months since I arrived at Wheaton Labs.

It’s hard to believe how much has happened in such a short time. From rocket heaters to permaculture gardening and learning-by-doing, the past 60 days have been packed with growth, hands-on experiences, and a whole lot of dirt under my fingernails (in the best way possible). I’ve been chronicling my journey here on my BEL, and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s followed along, commented, or offered words of encouragement.

With 2 months left before I head out, I’ve set myself a big goal. I’m going for the GOLD, that means completing both PEP 1 and PEP 2. For those not familiar, PEP (Permaculture Experience according to Paul) is a skills building system for homesteading, and completing these levels is no small feat. It involves a wide range of tasks across gardening, natural building, food prep, tool care, and more. Think of it as earning merit badges for real-life skills, but with a serious focus on sustainability.

It’s an ambitious push, and I know it won’t be easy. That’s where YOU come in. If you’ve been through the PEP program I’d greatly appreciate your support. Whether it’s a tip, a how to, advice or just a word of motivation — I'm all ears.

The next two months are going to be fun and maybe a little intense, but I’m ready to dig in (literally and figuratively).

Thanks for being part of my journey.

Blessings, Catherine The Grateful

P.S. I cooked rice for Taco Tuesday as one of my bb's.

Hi Catherine. Congratulations for your 2 months at the Lab.
I wish you the best with your goal for the next 2 months.

I remember there was a thread about the easiest BBs to achieve. Do I have to help you find it?
I know at least 1 BB that's very easy. All you need to do is cut rags from an old T-shirt. Here
