Hi, I will be entering the Air Force in August. I am going to sign up for the GI Bill. I really don't see my self going back to school just for the degree itself. I am much more interested in taking individual classes on many different subjects of my liking.
But the GI Bill only works towards getting a degree, certificate, license etc. I feel it would be a waste of time to go to a college for a degree and take classes that are required for the degree, but would not interest me or be useful.
But there are some schools that teach things I would be interested in like natural building and herbal medicine. Which I feel the whole
course would be beneficial and not contain some 17th literature (nothing against 17th century lit)
class, which would bore the hell out of me but is required to graduate and get a degree. Does this make sense so far?
The two schools that came to mind are yestermorrow natural building school, on the east coast (which the GI Bill does support) and Blue Otter School of herbal medicine.
My question is what are some other schools similar to these? Structured away from your "normal" 4 year college. I mean any thing really. Think of all the different subjects on this forum, are their certificate programs for these subjects. Unless the VA changes something then all schooling must be taken to achieve a degree or certificate ( which I feel is bull shitzu). Thanks
