This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.

For this badge bit, you will create a vinegar infusion of lavender and hibiscus blossoms

Required:

- Make at least one pint (450ml) of infusion, show a picture of it being made, and a picture of the finished infusion.

I updated this page a bit.

The focus for the journal is on efficacy for the property. A robust journal is an excellent thing, but for PEP the required part is about determining the efficacy.

I also added elements about harvesting.

I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with raven talking about this about two weeks ago, and then another half hour on the phone with her on saturday. And then about 20 minutes talking with jocelyn. And about 15 more minutes with shawn. So this is not a casual shift.

Good? Any other suggestions?

So I've made a lavender mint vinegar infusion as a bug be gone spray for my rabbits and if I get any chickens. I got the recipe from Meyer's hatchery blog on natural pest control for your chickens. The lavender is growing in my parents yard, the mint has gone feral by the road. The vinegar almost immediately oxidized the chlorophyll, I pour off what I'm going to use and replace the volume in more apple cider vinegar. Eventually I have been told that the plants break down to nothing. I'd refill with fresh plants then.

I made a lavender vinegar infusion, including other herbs with it, like rose hips and chamomile. The vinegar is home-made, crabapple cider vinegar. I plan to use it as a toner.
