This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Natural Medicine.

For this BB, you will create an elderflower salve using plant material you harvested.

Minimum requirements:
  - Create a healing salve
  - Use elderflowers

To document completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pictures or a video (< 2 minutes):
  - Harvested plant material (either being harvested or just harvested)
  - Plant material in oil with a description of the oil and other ingredients you used in the oil or added to salve
  - Making the salve
  - Finished salve in a labeled container

I used the elderflower oil from my bb https://permies.com/wiki/167815/pep-natural-medicine/elder-flower-infused-oil-PEP#2536996 to make some salve!

This was really basic, my oil recipe was simply elderberry flowers in avocado oil (our household go-to for virtually everything) heated on the double boiler for a few hours.
After my bb was approved, I took that oil, which was about 85g, heated it back up in the double boiler, and added 18g of local beeswax to melt down. When it was a homogeneous liquid, I poured it directly in some tins I had picked up at the thrift store for 25 cents each.

Of course I had to try some when it cooled, it definitely smelled nice while not overpowering, and my dry skin in this arid climate soaked it up like a sponge.
