1) Make a sketch and work out how much wire I would need
2) Gather tools and materials - coat-hanger, pliers, ruler
3) Cut length - I later discovered I hadn’t taken in to account the width of the wire, so I actually need 25.5 cm and the first piece I cut was too short.
4) Make a jig for bending the curves with an old piece of two by four. Measure the centre line and mark the centre of each bend.
5) Find and drill holes in three 2cm coins. Fix to the wood on top of a washer to create a grove for the wire.
6) Screw the coins to the wood.
7) Add two nails to hold the wire for the first bend and insert wire
8) Manually bend the wire around the three coins
9) Make lots of tiny bends with pliers to get the clip to the right shape and then saw off the excess with a Dremel. Clip is complete.
10) Test on a packet - job done
Cargo bikes are cool
