This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Round Wood Woodworking.

As your roundwood construction skills are improving, it's time to make things that are elegant while still being very sturdy.  A ladder is a prime example, let's give it a shot!

Here's one way you could do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a sturdy ladder
  - At least 8' tall
  - At least 7 rungs
  - Strong enough for Uncle Frank (250 lbs)
  - Metal fasteners are permitted
  - Lashing it together is not allowed
  - Ladder is debarked and smooth

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - Logs you're starting with
  - Ladder under construction
  - Finished ladder with measurement

I never really thought about making your own ladder! I just saw this YT video made by a Boot at Wheaton Labs where he talks about how he made a compound mallet. That might be very useful in making this ladder...
