I give this DVD 10 out of 10 acorns.

I have watched this DVD two years ago, while doing online PDC with Geoff. Since then, I have returned to it a few times to refresh my memory. Geoff presents several useful methods that I have copied and used in my homestead. Some of those I use very often, like compost tea preparations and worm farm. This DVD is just loaded with useful information. It emphasizes feeding soils over feeding plants and it shows how to do it in a number of ways. There are tips useful for urban gardener and large scale farmer alike. I strongly recommend this DVD to those who start their adventures in the garden, homestead, or farm.

At the risk of being a party pooper, Geoff's team still sells this video and might look poorly on the Permies community for encouraging pirates.

We cannot tell if Geoff approved of this or not. It is on youtube - and youtube is really good about respecting copyright claims.

Very interested in using compost to heat showers--anyone have more detailed info on how piping is configured within pile, what type of pipe is used, generally how the system is set up, etc?

About 1:18:00 he explains adding trace minerals to the farm ecosystem by adding them to the animal feed. I brought this up in the discussion of nutrient deficiencies when trying to produce all your own food. We did this with our goat herd in the 1950's. I believe that boost in nutrient density from age 10 into my 20's had a strong effect on my current health and longevity.

I give this DVD 10 out of 10 acorns!

Permaculture Soils is a wonderful DVD going over soil biology, ecology, and how soils can be improved with permaculture techniques! Geoff Lawton does it again with his easy to understand teaching style and fantastic videography!
