Junk Mail, I know it may be a little strange, but keep in mind the old guy that is posting this.  I'm blessed that I do not receive a great deal of junk, I shred what I can for my worms or compost, except for the flyers from the cable and fiber companies, all the others I drop into the trash.   On these envelopes I write across the face: DECLINED/RETURN and under this I add: I use STARLINK !

I know that it seems silly and petty but it gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling, plus it makes me smile knowing that a few other folks may see this and smile also.  It's a source of simple gratification to me,"harm none".

Peace/Heddwch

Jumping in on this older post because today I found a little moment of joy — sitting on my porch, listening to the rustling leaves, with a cool breeze carrying the scent of freshly cut grass. It's amazing how these tiny details can make a day brighter. Curious to know what simple pleasures the rest of you are finding these days!

In general, giving away baby plants to people who just need a baby plant in their lives.

In specific, I gave a baby Pitaya that I started from seed, to a friend's son. The smile I got in return, was priceless!

Ooh! a walnut!

The trees didn't set any last year, which was a bit disappointing, and I thought this year there was no chance as the male and female flowers just didn't seem to align. However I spotted this nut during the week! We're only the middle of August, so given a good autumn (and a lack of awareness from the wildlife) I'm thinking there could be a chance of this ripening?

That's an awfully tempting target! I sometimes cover my grape clusters with cloth bags to keep the birds from pecking every fruit, but I'm not sure cloth would do the job for a nut.

What are your most likely nut swipers?

Whip out those weird instruments of science and probe away! I think it's a tiny ad:
It's a bit like "run away to the circus" but for gardeners
