At least 1 person in the permaculture world can't stop, wont stop, living and breathing permaculture 24/7

I gotta family, I don't know what they did today, wife was probably messing with a turkey, daughter probably messing with the internet.
And instead of shopping or relaxing or anything humanly sane.

I spent my day mulching the garden, and refreshing permies on the hour looking for new threads. If I wasn't so pleased with how deep i burried the yard in free hay i got off craigslist, I could question my sanity.

Anyone else terribly infected that all other things are second to permaculture, and when your trying to be a good person and act normal your mind is still perpetually ticking away behind the scenes?

I was thinking the best day to go around digging up plants that arn't mine but arn't anyones in general would be christmas day. Home depot didn't plant the typhus latifolia and it's allot easier to spend all day in a ditch helping myself when nobody is around to declare it suspect.

I gathered up several wheel barrel loads of leaves, one of manure, unloaded a roll of hay for Bull, found an egg, mowed some leaves for mulch, put in some turnip seedlings, potted up some collards, mulched the turnip, peas and lima beans-after watering deeply, had a devil of a time with the Evil Thorn Bush of Death, threw a bowl of coffee grounds at a leaf pile, added some 'other material' to a special heap which will not be used for food crops, scattered some hickory nuts across the road, gathered up a bunch of branches, heap most of them, added some to a soon-to-be-hugelkulture bed, counted all the radishes (there are 3) and potatoes (now 17), thought about using acorns as a fuel, moved a giant box out of the garage to the back field-Bull likes to play with them(?), cleaned out the front seat of the big truck, noticed pine cones on the ground from that big pine tree out front, realized I have no plans for using pine cones, threw a stick at that grey cat with the giant head, thought about wine but kept making coffee out of habit, spread some compost for the next bed, noticed the leaves on the thyme was especially dark green and terrifically strong of flavor, checked on Alice who is recovering remarkably well after being mauled by a fox, set some shotgun shells at the ready in case he comes back, moved the truck so I don't shoot it, and generally took it easy all day.

Ooooooooo YEAH! Now where talking christmas eve! I was going to dare to expand on what I really did today but I'm so please with what you did I'm going to blanket state it as just a hay day.
Still 35 mins before christmas so if my de-alcoholized beer finally disolves my dinner I may have enough energy to go ona good rant about the goodness of permaculture beyond hobbyness.
Maybe i should go try and mate one of my rabbit's while i'm having a smoke, knowing me i'll end up getting clawed for the late night disturbance and end up with blood on my ciggy.

Took the day for fellowship and merriment. I've become a terrible homebody of late. Have tomorrow off, can get back to doing my thing.

One of the few Christmases when we didn't have guests. Was low key enjoyable day. Unbelievably no snow yet so I can still work in the dirt.
Plumbed the pex tubing to the solararhart water heating panels for the raised beds in the new greenhouse and added the compost to that huge bed. Then went into the shop and finished the install of a bookcase for the wife.

Loved hearing about the projects--especially the joy in and from them!

Not being at a place where I could do projects besides cooking, I made loads of food, including some fermented gifts. Then spent Christmas Eve with folks who enjoy permaculture discussions, casual whole foods meals and a good game now and then. And while it doesn't have to be about gifts, it was also a group who appreciated homemade cocoa-goji berry sauce, freshly made kraut, soap nuts, lightly-used cloth napkins and used/seasoned cast iron as gifts! I mean, just try to give soap nuts to some relatives or friends...
