Joy here-- I am in the process of creating an off grid permaculture life. I bought 7+ acres in Colorado, built a cordwood house, put in a well, and 3 kw of solar. I am hopeful for my soulmate for a simple life. I'm debt free, liberal, petite, healthy, and very at peace. It would be great for you to be in your 50s, with experience and a love of mountain life. I am sensitive and caring by nature; folks find me calming to be around. We are all one. Do you agree? I believe in a high vibration of living and eating. You might express as either gender and still be able to co-create with me! I value sensual creativity!

Tell me something about yourself and what you love in the mountains. I love the smells of the forest in the spring, the flowers in front of the house in the summer, the sound of elk bugling in the distance from my deck in the fall, ski touring up high or in the neighborhood during the winter, and coming home to a warm fire!

Let's play!! This is the fun part. What inspires you? I love the colors of things around the house and I am very visual. I enjoy homemade music. Do you play any instruments? I cook great enchiladas. I love travel, juice, riding bikes, and animals. Do you have any animals?

A greenhouse for food options and a wood burning hot tub or sauna are all possibles on my list. Also, a magnetic free energy style generator to pump water would be great! Tips from those with experience are also appreciated

I choose great communication and partnership while keeping open to combining resources and moving to our together choice location. I'm curious to see what unfolds.
In peace, Joy

Congratulations on the life you are building for yourself.  Sounds lovely!  That is a great cabin, for sure.

So is that you brushing the dog?

Best of luck finding the right person to share your off-grid lifestyle with : )

Thanks, Matthew!

Yes, that's me showing how the animals love to be close. Also, showing off my dirty blond hair. I've got blue eyes hidden in there, too. I just thought it was a different view...

Do you think I should change it to get some responses? I was hoping to attract the not so superficial type but that may not be a good method to find my soulmate?

Hi Joy!  I think you've got a great post and I like the picture.  It's good to know that you can shave a dog whilst squatting a cat.    Because of the time of year, Permies seems to be less active than normal, so you may just have to be patient until some people get the time to get back here.  If I was American I'd have sent you a PM by now, though I'm not in my 50s, but don't let that discourage you...

Best of luck finding someone special.

Yea that photo is nice catch of the moment.

I like your idea of a bit of mystery and getting to know the person first although you would eventually see the other and vice-versa.

EIther way beautiful cabin and nice forest.

BEE WELL!!

Hey Joy, my name is Steve and I'm also in Colorado. I came here 3 months ago to follow my childhood dream of one day living in Pagosa springs (a place I went every year as a kid). I came to work on a homestead on the Western slope but turns out it didn't exist. I have been searching for a off-grid place that could use some help from a certified arborist, ranch hand, gardener, or fence builder. I just found this website and was checking the personals because I'm also single but looking for friendship before a relationship.
I fell in love with the Western slope 35 years ago and never forgot my promise to one day return to the place I found majestic and truly peaceful. What I love about the mountains is the fact that they held a piece of my soul from my first glimpse so many years ago.
I am a great cook first of all. Lol I dry foods and love to can fruits and veggies. I cook in a Dutch oven most often and chicken and dumplings is my most famous meal to cook for folks. I apologise for not being quiet yet in my 50's but I'm at the border of it. If any of this interest you please feel free to message me back.

Hi Steve,

Ahhhh a love of the mountains and knowing where the western slope is! Fantastic to hear from you. My place is a little like a homestead but with no fences and with property taxes. It sounds like your skills complement mine quite well, so please let's have a PM conversation. You have to initiate this, I believe 😊.

I'm excited and thanks so much for reaching out, Joy

joy that is such an awesome house you built, yeah, I seems your a very creative and focused individual, unfortunately I'm here closer to the east coast, I'm just an unordinary guy who likes to make up my own music but have no desire to be a rock star, guess I'm too shy to make youtube videos with my songs but my daughter keeps pushing me to create a youtube channel with my music, love the mountains but hate the bugs we have here in summer. send me a pm if you would like a pen pal

Hey
Been living in the bush Alaska last twenty years. Built many cabins around the state but not as fancy as yours. Very nice. Have 20 acres with a couple cabins in eastern interior. Great mountain views. Couldn't live anywhere but the mountains. Works in progress. Caretaking a fishing lodge in south west part of state now. Love the sound of moose grunts in the fall. Called three bulls right to the cabin last fall.

Hi! I'm in Summit county and jefferson county. Where in Colorado are you?  Your picture is funny. I have a cat, and have always had cats. Then I had a son, and he is now almost eleven, and I'm getting him a puppy in two weeks. He had been waiting and wanting since he was 4 and met a cool chihuahua.

I've not been able to purchase land, always choosing low paying but gratifying jobs. I hope to change that and am saving up. I hope to have a tiny home community with gardens and opportunities for the disenfranchised or single moms. I would have joined a good community if I had found one back then. But I moved in with my mom and dad instead and re parented myself.

I used to be in maryland and in the primitive skills communities, but haven't been in that community since moving here in 2017. Life...

I love skinning up and sliding down, and I love making music in this mountain town here. Don't mind the tourists, and do mind the hatred and divisiveness against tourists and political parties.

I'm responding because I'd love to meet permies in Colorado.
