This is an invisible ink that works with fountain pens.  The best thing about it is that it doesn't leave a mark on the page.  It's archival so it won't damage the page.  Only visible in UV light.

Although I've never actually written with it, I'm told it's very good.

Hmmm, on my youtube poll it was only 40% who said "of course not".

I find that very interesting.  Hopefully, we can get a larger sample size here.

For me, the problem is with the question... Define a "note". I do not write in library books has one exception - if there's a typo/writo or similar which interferes with comprehension, I cheat on my rule of not writing in library books. Not a *lot* gets past the publishers, but I have seen a few major bloopers in my time!

Once I read a whole conversation on a margin of a library book, written with pencils. Anonymous readers were discussing the content of that page. Fascinating.

I use a post-it to add a note in cases like that. That way it's there for the next reader, but the book isn't marked.

Whose rules are you playing by? This tiny ad doesn't respect those rules:
building a better world rather than being angry at bad guys
