I’m making “board butter” and need containers to package it

This is my first beeswax harvest! The first thing I made was a batch of board butter- beeswax and coconut oil salve to treat dry cutting boards and wooden spoons. It is solid but kinda squishy. I want to give it away as presents but I don’t have a stash of containers. I can re-melt it and pour it into any container. Altoid tins would be great but I don’t buy them so I have none. What would you use?

How about making some beeswax wraps to put them in and tie with string. Two presents in one😉

If you know someone with a baby or toddler, baby food jars would work well.

If you don't mind the cost, the really small canning jars would be nice for a small quantity, or what locals here call a "fish jar" (short, wide-mouth canning jar thats ~250ml (the "really small" ones are narrow mouth and ~125ml).
I make sure that when I gift canning jars with contents, that my name is on the label and tell people that if they return the jar, it might just get refilled!

By the way, the next time that you render your wax, keep all the slum gum, remelt it and use for firelighters (if you haven't already).

If I have pine cones, I pour them into the upturned cone sitting the cone in a silicone mold so as I pour the bits into the scales, the cone remains upright.

Alternatively pour the slum gum into the base of the mold and sit the cone into it.

If you don't have any pine cones, you can pour the slum gum into egg carton bottoms.

Megan, I spread the slum gum on the paper wrapper of toilet paper rolls, cut it  into nuggets, and cram the nuggets into 1/2 of an empty tp roll!

Great ideas! Thank you all! I have a stash of baby food jars somewhere. And I have a lot of cotton fabric left from mask making. I wonder if bee propolis could be used instead of pine resin.  It’s the bees transformation of tree resin!
