I find Shooting Stars fascinating and wondrous.  I know they are simply bits of dust etc. entering the atmosphere but they are generally so rare that I find them special.  The Geminids meteor shower is ending and the Ursids meteor shower is beginning and peaks around the Winter Solstice.  I enjoy searching the skies for them ... and as they are so rare, it is amazing when I do see them!  Thought I'd share the experience.
