this is rather like "vicarious presence part 2"... I just submitted the campaign on wethetrees.com and it is awaiting approval!

i'm so extremely happy and scared and excited and nervous. I actually stared at the page for about twenty minutes reviewing it and then another five minutes just staring at it before I could submit it. but its done now!

and i'm waiting for email from them on if it has been approved.

....the "always much longer then it really is" process of waiting.....

hahaha thanks Jocelyn! its one of the few pics of myself that I let on the net!

it is actually from a local fall festival done by the historical society. I am a member of the spinners and weavers guild here and was in it this last fall. I was in the two story cabin. I was showing the drop spindle as well as some impromptu knitting of my handspun and talked with people about the history of spinning and how it changed over time. as well as talking about different types of wools and different fibers.

the lady I sat with for the festival was showing off smocking. she had two christening gowns which she had hand done all the smocking on them. one was for her granddaughter, whom is now about 17 I believe, and the other was for her daughter, who is now in her 40's if I remember right. both dresses were absolutely stunning as well as mind boggling to think of doing the work!
she had an old fashion smocking machine (hand crank) that was definitely interesting to learn about as I (as well as most people who came through) had never seen one before. although many people didn't even know what smocking was really! hahaha. and to think how all those medieval gigantic dresses and outfits were all done without any elastic! all done with totally HAND SEWN smocking! its crazy!

yes I put the rabbit naming raffle at higher then the cow naming because of the amount of winners. I will only be able to handle so many critters hahaha (:

as far as I know the stream right now is flowing only through paul's mind.... it is an area that looks like a dried up half grown over streambed that he wants to turn into a proper stream through permaculture techniques. it will then be a sort of auction to name it with the auction money going towards the farm.

Suppose one bought in at a sheepish price, but always wanted to name a cow. Could he trade in his raffle ticket (to name sheep) in exchange for a chance to name a cow? Will we get pictures of our animals?

that is a good idea about pictures. perhaps I could do a monthly email with pics to send to the people who win the naming raffles? like "this rabbit is {chosen name} who was named by {donator who won raffle}. she is doing great and just had her first litter! healthy litter of 9 kits {insert pic of nest}. this cow is {...} named by {...}...." and on like that. send it out like first of each month or something.

hahaha that makes sense. yes i'll be notifying people of who won the naming raffles. they will get emailed pics of the animal (though some will have a short wait until I aquire said animals such as the sheep) and I will be announcing the picked names in the videos. i'm going to type up the full plan for naming raffles and put it on the campaign in the update part. should have put it in the campaign lol oops.

please note, I DO NOT HAVE ANY ANGORA GOATS! these pictures are the three does I had for a short time but long story short, I don't have them any more though do still have lots of fiber from them to use.
I have been putting out feelers in Missoula area and know of some cashmere goats for sale ads real great price and would love to aquire some if this all works out and we can move there (:

their names were joplaya, roshario, and jetamio. named from one of my favorite book series.

"don't barf on my hooves!" hahaha this was bringing them home. 2+hr drive each way in an astro van.

this is milkyway in may 2011 with her first kidding babies. she had twin boys.

and moonbeam kidded two days later with a single boy.

all three boys on walks of the farm (note this is first part of may)

hope this works... its a short video of the one main hay field here, plus the baby goats. this was on one of my walks with them.

"mum! mum! mum! can I eat that yummy clover right there?!"

about to start heading back to the house from our walk. the little white things are the older goats in their pasture.

"WAIT UP!!!"

i'm a novice atlatl maker and.. user? haha not sure what would best describe it. basically I can throw an arrow alone about ten feet but with these awesome tools I can throw about the full length of a football field. my aim is for crap with them so far but I hope to get much better with them.

this is the first one I ever made and its still my favorite one. holly wood.

my friend made this one. very crude but works. I don't like using it but at the time he thought he was thee coolest thing ever hahaha.

this one I don't like either. made from bamboo. this is called a female end because the butt of the dart sets into it instead of on a nock on the atlatl

there is another I made, which is my second favorite. it is of pine and I carved designs into it. unfortunately I don't have pics of it though. it was a gift to my fiancé.

as well as milking my goats they were trained to pack. they are out of practice because packing them while pregnant would likely end in miscarriage and packing while milking would cut into milk production. and since I have been busy with other things it just hasn't happened lately. I still have two full pack sets and hope to get a wether or two to train up for packing. harness would be fun too but if I got into carts and all I would get a steer calf and raise up and train as an ox to ride and pull cart.

http://www.northwestpackgoats.com/ is where I got my pack sets from. they are some amazing people working there. Rex, who owns and runs it, actually sent me them! no charge! he is super amazing and has helped out tons of people (: after posting on the packgoat forum (should be a link to it from the site) for over a year with no equipment other then what I could scrape together on my own and make.

this is dec 2011 in the pics. and the buck with the huge horns was the one I borrowed to breed the girls. dad of the babies from pics above. first two pics are pre-snow and same field as the short video from above.

its hard to believe it but only February 2012 I got my first rabbits. before that the only one i'd ever had was a pet one from a flea market and ones my dad got us for easter one year. I was like 9 or so and named it "taco" and that was about as much attention as it got. didn't take long for my parents to get rid of it and honestly I don't remember much more about it at all. the easter bunnies were in a hutch he built but he put it in the goat pen and the goats would butt it until it opened and then they would squish into it and sit like perching chickens! I wish I had pictures to prove it! needless to say those rabbits only lasted slightly longer then poor "taco"...

here are my first ever real rabbits...
the dutch

the lionheads. I actually only bought them because it was only $75 for them all and the hutch. so I figured I might as well test myself with cheap ones and make sure I like them and then can buy nice ones. still have this hutch (though remodeled) but sold off the lionheads.

my first ever rabbit litter! I was sooooo excited when this happened (: {after about 3min in its just me rambling about the barn lol}

don't mind the rambling :$ hahaha. the steel one I point out in this litter is actually one of the bucks I have now.

as previously you can see about my rabbits. I feel I've gained more then a year of experience! and now I finally am getting the real meaty rabbits. I currently have a Californian doe and dutch buck that will be coming with to the land and possibly the biggest of her current litter depending on how they turn out. the rest of what I have now are going to be sold off. on Friday some will be sold and i'll be picking up a trio of nice meaty rabbits. Red NZ buck, red NZ doe, and a chesnut 3/4 NZ-1/4 Flemish giant doe.

my current setup is hutches. they will be coming with but i'm hoping once things get settled in that I will be able to build a colony for them. as well I have several ideas I would love to try for pasture raising that I think paul might like. I know they don't meet his full wishes but I don't have any idea yet of something that would fully meet his wishes on that yet. but I think he may like some of these ideas better then common "rabbit tractors".

I will be doing an update video tomorrow hopefully if the weather gets nice and show my current setup and link to it here.

as to the guinea pig part of my quote from paul... I have a herd of guinea pigs that i'm raising for meat. I don't generally solicit alms for others, but I do wish you good luck. Maybe someday money will be that easy to come by. You're animal rich, so if all else fails lose some animals am I wrong? The trip would cost less that way.

not really. they are worth more to keep then selling. if I take them to auction i'll get a high of $40 each. and i'm pushin it for that. I've had ads posted for them since they've been weaned and only offers I've got were people wanting them for free. screw that i'd rather eat em myself before giving them away. and right now that's all i'd be able to do.

and it wouldn't affect the cost of the trip to take the young goats.

I did find an ad for a two horse trailer nearby. $1800. pics looked good. the trailer would be good for bringin new critters to the land or could be sold and the money used for new critters if already a trailer there.

all of the fiber (wool, mohair) I dyed Saturday at local spinners and weavers meeting

first yarn I ever made start to finish (smaller spindle) and plarn (PLastic yARN, big spindle).. I made the drop spindles myself. the smaller one I later added wood whorl, here shows original cardboard.

that is all goat milk. hahaha! when I say there is enough to go around I mean it!!! if I remember right, at this time it was something like 12 gallons of milk and 18 pounds of cheese in the fridge... {gal milk= lb cheese.. appx}

I just don't think folks realize the value of your original offer. Not taking away from all the other things your offering, but the most valuable thing IMO is the video aspect.
