This sounds interesting.

What about:

Rent-a-Stranger: This Japanese Man Makes a Living Showing up and Doing Nothing

Shoji Morimoto doesn’t talk much but he will sit and listen and be there for events people fear to share with someone they know.

I know some professional mermaids.  They come to our fantasy faires and hang out in the mermaid pool and swim around and sun themselves and take pictures with kids, its great!  If I wasn't already singing at the faires I'd probably want to do it too.

There are a million small jobs out there.

These are small problems someone wants fixed. They will pay you to fix them.

But to get a steady stream, it takes a network of people who know people. People who you did a job for, and they liked what you did, and they find you capable and trustworthy, so they recommend you to their network.

EDIT: I'm not sure I could pull off the mermaid thing though, however eager I might be.

How about designing lego models?

source
That would have been my dream job as a child! I used to pick out all the bricks of one colour and make spaceships.....blue was good.

Apparently lego employ professionals at all their visitor attractions as well as for the boxed kits. You can also go freelance of course and sell your own kit/designs online.

I think if you're able to design a Lego model from scratch, the world's pretty much your oyster!
