Hullo!

My family and I are currently living in Northern Italy but will be moving back to the states (more specifically, Biloxi, MS) in November of this year.

I'm looking for local permies to help me acquire some hands on experience.
For the past three years I've been reading.. and studying.. and reading.. and reading about permaculture, agroforestry, and aquaculture and while I've been wanting to put these things into practice, I have yet to get my hands dirty.

I would love to intern on a farm, even if it's just for the experience and not a paid internship.

Or even just a permie friend who can show me what they've done in their garden and guide me a little.

Ciao Amici!

Have you found any help yet. I'm moving back to AL the 3rd week of November. I've been browsing this site. The southerners seem to be scattered, but have the potential of a solid for group. I would think some of them would have something to teach you or inspire you.

Me, I'm just getting started. A wooded acreage that I don't know well yet. The next few years will witness my first stumbling steps in applying permaculture principles. I've been researching like a madwoman these last 2-3 years, but research is one thing and practical e pertinence another.

Let me kno how things go for y'all.

I lived there for a year or two, but am no longer living there. The best I can offer is that I know a bit of the area from when I was living there and do have a sister-in-law living in Ocean Springs still.

Chris,

I'm about 20 miles NW of jasper, and just south of the Bankhead National Forest. Nauvoo.

Well, you're a long way from where I am down here on the coast, but you're exactly three hours from my nine acres up in Choctaw county. Maybe we can meet there one of these days, show ya what I've been up to. I'm only a touch over two hours from Biloxi, but the original poster seems to have disappeared...
Have you started a thread about your property yet Yvonne?

Chris,

Haven't started a thread about my property yet. Maybe, I'll do that.

Jordan,

We will be neighbors! We are in the process of moving to a new homestead north of Gulfport. We are newbies and have a few dozen acres of failed housing development in the woods. We'd love to meet up with a like-minded person and you, of course, are always welcome to come get your hands dirty building hugels, planting trees, or whathaveyou. I must warn you that we are having a baby human in November and will probably be OOP for your first few weeks on the Coast.

Hey there,

Did you ever make it back to Biloxi and any luck finding other permies. Trying to kickstart the Coast! Let's find it.
