Yesterday one of my students came to me and gave me a pen that she got from the Illinois National Guard.  It is the Swiss Army Knife, the Leatherman Multitool of pens!  I had no idea that it was possible to put so much utility into a pen.  In addition to writing, it has a:

Flashlight

Compass

Screwdriver

And a few more features that I am still figuring out.


How cool!

Wow, that is totally cool. Is the ink part replaceable?

What type of screwdriver? Or is there actually a selection of bits?

Am I allowed to have pen envy?  I thought I was doing well with the choice of 4 colours of ink.

No kidding, here I am with my tactical pen that can break a window if my car goes into a frozen lake, but it doesn't even have a flashlight. I want my money back!

You can have pen envy if you want, but a tactical pen that can break class is pretty cool on its own!

This got me curious enough to look them up on Amazon.  There is quite the selection. And, some do come with replacement ink cartridges.

If I remember, this one does have a replaceable cartridge.

Anne, that has to be it!

The only difference is that this one is camo and has Illinois National Guard written on it.  Recruiters loves to hand them out.
