fukuoka flat: a place to park a camping trailer, rv (land whale), skoolie or sprinter van (van life)

A couple of years ago, we put in the order to have a well drilled.  The drilling company said that for that spot we would need a giant flat spot for the well drilling equipment.  So we used our 14 ton excavator to chisel away at the rock.  The well was drilled



The result is a relatively flat spot with a lot of big, sharp rocks, and a well, with pump house at one end.  

Last year, Seth started dropping off some nice soft sand from arrakis, so the site would be a little easier on the toes.





We talked about building some really tall hugelkultur there, so estaban starting collecting wood.

And then our "jumbo supporter" rented a huge excavator for us and we started building some really tall hugelkulturs





We need to finish the hugelkulturs, plant them, smooth out the spot ...    

We already have a water hydrant there.  We are currently adding electrical outlets.  

Soon, this spot, Fukuoka Flat, will need a rig parked there to try it all out!

Good chance I will be in that neck of the woods next summer. Would enjoy spending some time there in my camper van.

I recommend it as a van spot! I got to stay there for a few nights and it was great views!

Great view. I don't really need external electric hookups but it's nice to have. Right next to a giant hugelkultur. Usually much cooler than TX in summer.  What's not to like? My bags are 1/2 way packed.

Has the love shack remained at this location?

It seems odd to expand the electrical grid there, was a larger solar battery install considered? I guess something already was there for the pump house, eh?
