Just came across this website & I'm overwhelmed by it all but all good
Anyhow, would I be able to post our website here? If so, where?

Thanks all

I don't know if you're interested in the method, but I incorporated my web address into my signature.

There is a way to make it an active link, but I don't know how to tell you to do that. Maybe someone can help.

Hi, Darius, welcome to Permies!

If your website is marketing a product or service of permaculture or related interest, you're welcome to make a thread about it in the Blatant Advertising forum:

https://permies.com/f/149/blatant-advertising

Be sure to tell folks what they'll find there, it encourages people to click when you don't leave them guessing where they are going and why.

If your website isn't commercial -- we have a lot of people here who run a blog about their farms for instance -- you would be welcome to post about it (and share your link) in whatever forum seems most likely to be interested in it.  For instance if you are an apple grower and your site is about that you might put it in apple trees.

Hope this helps!

Edited to add: I just looked at your profile, which I should have done before flapping my fingertips.  It would be fine to make a post in our ecovillage forum about your ecovillage plan, and your link would be welcome as part of that post.

It looks like your website is a good fit for our site, so you'd be more than welcome to make a thread about it and tell us more.  We do ask that if you make a post with a link to your own site, then you include at least a paragraph or two from the page, and a photo, to give us a taste of what it's all about.  But a whole thread telling us all about your ecovillage would be awesome!

Also a link in your signature would mean that people could find your site from any post you make here.

To make a link live in the signature, instead of typing in, say,

www.kaufarmer.blogspot.com

then use something like

[url=www.kaufarmer.blogspot.com]kaufarmer blog[/url]

I've disabled the code in this post so you can see what the code looks like, but not what the result would be.  Experiment a bit and see how things look and how you like them, and if they work.

(I tried to demonstrate the most basic url tag thingies too, but it seems they are automatically stripped out from my posts even when I try to switch them off.  Technology confuses me...)

Hello All;

Wow, thank you all for your helpful suggestions
I'm so ignorant & hopeless with...I was going to say when it comes to technology, but really most topics, sigh.

Wish I could just sum-up what I'm trying to do here in only one paragraph, lol.

No need to restrict yourself - feel free to create a whole thread and load it with photos.

Well we have a million visitors a month, and from experience I know that a good thread with loads of tempting photos will attract a lot more readers than an invitation to click another link.  And the more people see you and what you do, the more likely they will be to finally pluck up the courage to click one.

We love hearing about enormous projects & dreams.

permies.com has a huge audience.  I always tune out when people start talking about numbers, but I dug up some numbers for you.

Something I really like to see is when someone has a blog, they come here and start a conversation.  They post a paragraph or two about what the blog post is about, with a link, and it triggers an interesting discussion.

here's an example I really like.  He's a video blogger who had a topic that got our attention.  We got to chat about it on premies, and he got more visibility for his youtube.  His topic was interesting enough to get a mention in the Daily-ish email which has over 31 thousand subscribers.   I see that as win/win.

I forgot to say, the more conversation you can generate in a thread, the more viewers you'll have in that thread, the more traffic will come to your site.  That's why we suggest a few paragraphs about your topic.

I suspect many of our readers are a bit like me.  I don't click on a link unless something really engages me.
