Floors for pig pens

We are going to put a layer of winebottles into the floor of our pig barn for insulation a las victorians. Anyone tried this? (Doing the floor, not drinking the wine).

Are you making a hardened floor (such as concrete)?

Can't say I recommend that but it's your choice.

if i was going to attempt this i would make sure there was a nice bed of and under the bottles, and enough sand all around them as well, then lay some vapour barrier (could go below bedding sand also). then no less than 4 inches of cob or concrete. not sure what pigs would do to cob, probably wreck it. i like when people try things.

Yes to the sand and concrete layer reinforced with rebar. This method is an old English method for putting in a layer of air and slow down damp rising. I have an almost unlimited supply of wine bottles so....
