This last year I've planted a lot of trees and have learned a lot about orchards and food forests. I still have a lot to learn. But one thing that I've been curious about is how fast fruit and nut trees grow, and what they look like as they mature. I've seen young trees and I've seen mature trees, but around here I haven't seen a lot in between.

So, the idea to create this post came to mind! I'd love to see your photos of your trees and shrubs over time, if you have them. I'd love to see how they progressed. I'll try to get out and upload some photos of mine soon. I think it'd be a great way to give beginning orchardists an idea of what to expect, even if tree growth varies site to site. Thanks in advance for sharing!

Thank you Amit :) I'm going to try to get some pictures of my own field uploaded once things calm down a bit. Thanks for the detailed labels!

Apricot seedling at the end of the first growing season after germination. It germinated 20 months after planting.

Thanks for all the contributions everyone!

Here are some pictures from my young orchard. I'll try to snap new photos over the years to show you how they're developing.

Not an orchard, but a small "forest garden" in my backyard, still in the making. "After" is 1.5 year later than "before"
