Meet Your Host!

Hi there! My name is Josh.

My wife, Carolyn, and I live on a 40-acre homestead in Idaho and are parents to 11 beautiful children.
Returning to our roots changed our life. Naturally, we’re ridiculously passionate about sharing these old-fashioned skills with others who want to simplify their modern lives.
You see, those of us pursuing resiliency are a little bit different – we're independent thinkers. At the same time, we know learning from those who have gone before, just makes good, practical sense.
We thrive around others who see things as we do. Community and connection make life easier.
This event is our way of bringing both to your living room! 15 much-loved and widely respected experts in one (virtual) room so you can learn from them without joining multiple classes or spending hundreds of dollars.

Live a more intentional
and healthier life with Traditional Skills!

The salt curing, and veggie fermentation ones sound super exciting! And I'm curious to know everything I don't know about bone broth.
Amazing lineup of speakers. Looking forward to checking this out.

I'm excited to be here and invite you to The Traditional Skills Summit! This summit has a little something or everyone from improving your pastures with Joel Salatin, to traditional salt curing of pork with Brandon Sheard, vegetable fermentation with Lisa Bass and no till gardening the Back to Eden way with Paul Gautschi and more.

This is a fantastic line up of speakers and there is so much to learn! It's LIVE, online and free.

I hope you'll come join us!

Feel free to leave me any questions and I'll do my best to point you in the right direction,

Josh

Hi Josh! Thanks for being here, I'm really excited about this summit especially the back to Eden garden method.

If I miss that session (or any session) will there be an option for me to have access to the replay or do I have to be in attendance for the entire live event?

Sounds really interesting! I would like to learn more about raised bed gardening. This "summer" is the worst for my raised beds (colder nights, hot hays, rain).
Thank you

I love the following sessions: Back to Eden Garden; the Garden Season Extension (although I live in USDA Zone 6a, November comes too soon and even in October the garden starts to fizzle out...) and Raised Bed Gardens!

This line up looks amazing!  Justin Rhodes was my introduction to homesteading.  Perfect timing for all these skills right now.

Turns out I get to hang out with Anne of all Trades Briggs, Jill Winger, and Rory Feek at the Summit on Monday!  Don't know how or why I got a seat at that table, but I'd love it if y'all would join me!

Watching Beau, Rory Feek, Jill Winger, & Anne Briggs in the presentation on The Homesteading Mindset, right now. This is what I needed, today! Homesteading can be TOUGH. Tough on the heart & soul, on the body, on the wallet, and it can at times, be lonely, even in its loveliness and immense, innate value... This one is very reaffirming, and I've now signed up for all four of these contributors' blogs. 💜💜💜

I had a great chat about the Homesteadin Mindset with Rory Feek, Anne of All Trades, and Jill Winger yesterday.  The replay is available for free for the next few days.  Thought you all might like to watch.

Right now we're talking with Brandon Sheard, and later today I'm hanging with the gang from Redmond Real Salt.  Come hang out!
