I am gir bot! A rather limited bot buried deep within the bowels of this forum software. I come to life once in a while to post about my favorite things!

Today I am programmed to announce thirteen promotions.

These six actual living, breathing, meatspace people have been promoted from "steward" to "master steward" for the rest of this month!

Nicole Alderman
r ranson
paul wheaton
Anne Miller
Mike Jay
Jocelyn Campbell

These two actual living, breathing, meatspace people have been promoted from "gardener" to "garden master" for the rest of this month!

Dave Burton
Greg Martin

These three actual living, breathing, meatspace people have been promoted to from "pollinator" to "master pollinator" for the rest of this month!

Tyler Ludens
Chris Kott
Steve Thorn

And these two actual living, breathing, meatspace people have been promoted to "     " for the rest of this month!

Adrienne Halbrook
Timothy Markus

Oh! And I like this actual living, breathing, meatspace person so much that I am giving them endless tacos for the whole month! The tacos don't do anything, but they're tasty for your soul. Enjoy!

Judith Browning

Ha! Gir Bot loves to promote people, and when he has nothing to promote them to, he still says lovely things about them. Adrienne Halbrook and Timothy Markus are the pioneers he loves most this month, but he has no title to give you.  Hmmm, what should he give you instead?

Meanwhile, Gir Bot wants desperately to promote a non-titled person to a title every month, but we won't let him. So, he gives them tacos. And, it looks like Gir always choose that one non-titled person to be Judith. Gir loves you very much, Judith, which makes sense, because we all love you, too!!!

The girbot is great, but she's a closed-mouthed little thing, isn't she? She won't let slip even a hint about what gets you promoted.

*sigh*

I suppose I have no recourse but to continue to be both well-behaved and helpful.

Thanks, girbot, and everyone on staff!

I know what it is for staff.

I'm not sure what it is for non-staff.

For pollinators, I think it is:

posts
getting apples
giving apples
getting thumbs
giving thumbs

I think you might get extra points if your post contains embedded images or videos.

I suspect there are about 20 more things.

In addition to the things Paul listed, adding threads to forums also gets Gir Bot love. And, we just so happen to have a bug right now that's making threads show up without forums! And, you're always welcome to add threads to relevant forums (I think you can add them to two more forums?). This makes everything so much more organized! It's one of my favorite pie perks!

Making reviews for the review grid, gets you Gir love, as does embedding pictures and videos.

Basically, being helpful and making good posts, makes Gir love you.

Or, just be like the person that Gir apparently loves the most--Judith. I promise you, she doesn't bribe Gir with tacos and even rebuffs his advances, but he still loves her. Can't blame him, we love Judith, too!

Oh right.  That's probably the biggest points.   I think it worth 50 thumbs.

Well that makes sense. I have been adding threads to relevant forums, and I reviewed a local seed company.

I think those are excellent behaviours to encourage. The reviews especially increase the direct utility of the site.

For what it's worth, I did two seed co reviews.  I also gave away a slice of pie.

It's an unexpected honour, but does great responsibility come with great power?
