Hello, first time posting! I am planning on making a rocket stove for cooking(need to save money and have LOTS of wood). I salvaged (dump scored) a propane tank and was wondering if anyone can direct me to a pdf/chart on the basics of ratios/dimension for rocket cooking stoves to make it efficient ? I know it's an exact science,I just don't know it amd never made one before. This site is so extensive I thought I would ask to save a long time Searching (I have very limited internet time). Thanks in advance for any assistance and/or directions.
Hi Derek; Welcome to Permies!
I switched / added your post to the rocket stove forum, you may get more answers on cooking with a rocket stove there.
Check out the post that Dave recommended.
Consider finding a copy of the" rocket mass heater builders guide " all the dimensions and tips all in one place
I am not sure what your plan is for the propane tank. For a rocket stove (cooking) you won't need one. For a rocket mass heater you could use one, although a 55 gal barrel with a removable lid is easier and much preferable.
Do some reading here and if you can, get a copy of the builders guide. Then tell us what your build plans are. Remember we like photo's.
