So in case any of you missed the hint - here it is in plain english:

If Paul graces your doorstep Do Not Serve Cake.

I suck at making pies but if you do ever make it to the hot muggy bug infested south east I will make a pie. Or I will get someone to make one. But either way it will be a good pie.

Well... you've never tasted any cake baked by me... So next time you're in the south of the Netherlands feel free to pop in and try some... It will rock your worldview

Yush,

And the reason I'm so confident about my cakes is that I often bake hybrids: cake filled with fruity pie-filling baked into it and frosted afterwards... Iz nom :')

A piece of pie has a portability issue. That's why it's best to eat them as soon as you find them. A cookie on the other hand is readily portable and though not as good as pie still a tasty thing to have.

I like to have my pie and eat it too. Let non producers eat cake.

Meat pie- good

Meat cake- not so much
------------------------------------------------------------

Yellow lemon pie - good

Yellow Cake - BAD Ask George Junior

-----------------------------------------------------------

Julia Child making a pie- good

Some awful reality TV guy screaming obscenities over a ruined wedding cake-bad

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My aunt Doreen's chocolate cake with chocolate icing and dark chocolate squirty glazing, filled with the worlds best chocolate pudding, so moist it should be called pie - GOOD

Those awful bits of sweet styrafoam sold at Wal Mart - BAD

The graphic makes perfect sense to me.

Though starting out they both taste great, pie is more sustainable (permaculture dessert?!?!?)
Cake is fluff, pie is food.

Today I ate a pork pie for breakfast and no one complained.

Eat an entire cake for breakfast and...oh boy.

Pie wins.

For every event that cake is suitable - a pie is better.
