This sounds like a fun family project. Be from the past: wear dated clothes and build a time machine. From the future: maybe look at things then comment "oh, you still use those?"

Time travel has captured our imaginations for generations. Science and authors keep coming back to the topic again and again, so it should be no surprise there would be a day to pretend to be a time traveler. The original blog post that got the day rolling can be found here.  For more resources on how to be a time travel or at least act like one, we can explore the wide array of television and movies produced over the decades.

For example, Doctor Who is in its 26th season. Some might say that might be plenty of resource material right there. Let’s not stop, though. We’ve made a list and some of them might surprise you.

With the potentially tricky holiday period coming up, this sounds like a great family project - go neat places/times without leaving the safety of your own home!

Who wants to go rock-hunting on the moon with me?

It's the New Atlantis and New Pacifica reef-berg colonies for me. Maybe a little scuba to see submerged ruins that were once habitable and are now UNESCO heritage sites.

Or maybe an airship cruise around the world? Imagine seeing the North American Mammophant in it's natural range, the new Boreal Savannah, largest grassland in the world, and most biodiverse rewilding project of the new century.

Anywhere can mean anywhere. Or anywhen.

I have never done it before, but I always thought it would be interesting to navigate by a sextant.  I actually got one for Christmas one year, but it was not a traditional type and I really never got the hang of it.  Basically I needed better view of the stars—too many trees by me.

I think there is just something productive about using a sextant as opposed to the mindless use of GPS.

My neighbours' young daughter calls their washine machine "The Time Machine", apparently because you put clothing into it, set the time, and then it comes out in the future. Kids seem to know so much more than us before we send them off to be "educated".

My kids have really been enjoying the Magic Tree House books. It gives the kids an immersive experience into the past. The books do feature a bit of magic, so if you're wanting to give them objective history, you'll want to discuss what's magical and what's not.

Some of the books are a bit too exciting for my kids, especially before bed. Reading about escaping Pompai or being lost in a haunted pyramid are a bit terrifying for my kids, so we've had to switch to reading them during the day rather than before bed.

(Another mild complaint is how much the characters complain about wool being hot and the girl, Annie, complains about stays and wool dresses as making movement hard. There's a reason people wore wool, and it's a very breathable fabric!)
